Father’s Day Gift Making Workshop

Kids, take advantage of your summer vacation!

Father’s Day is just around the corner... and what would DAD like more than a handmade clay gift? This workshop will be held in the studio at Center Street Clay. It will take two days to complete. The first day we will make the item, the second we will glaze it. The works of art will be fired and ready for pick-up the week of June 14th. Wrapping materials and help with wrapping will be provided, giving participants the independence to make and wrap a very special handmade gift for DAD!

Local artist Cory McCrory will show you how to hand-build a variety of bird related projects

Handbuilding: with Cory McCrory

   Tuesday and Friday, 6:30 - 8:30PM

Class size: 8 maximum

Open Studio: Monday, 6:30 - 9:30PM                    

    Cost: $280, including $40 lab fee

You have seen her wacky sculptures, now you have a chance to learn from a master.

Cory will share her knowledge of handbuilding with paperclay during this 6 week class.

Class meets twice a week to keep the mojo rolling.

Included with this class:

1. •    Clay - students will learn to mix paperclay in the third class.
   

2. •    Bisque and glaze firing for the work you make. If anyone produces a large volume of work or exceptionally large-scale pieces we will negotiate a modest firing charge.

Wheel Throwing: with Steven Hill

            Wednesday 6:30 - 9:30PM

            April 7 - June 9, 2010

Class size: 8 maximum

Open studio: Monday, 6:30-9:30PM

Cost: $300

    This class is geared for the beginner who has never worked in clay before through the intermediate student. Small class size guarantees lots of personal attention for each student.

Included with this class:

1. •    25 lbs. of clay. This should get the average student through about ½ of a session. In the beginning you will be re-using much of your clay as you practice technique. Extra clay is available for $13 for a 25 lb. bag, as you need it.
   

2. •  Bisque and glaze firing for the work you make. If anyone produces a large volume of work or exceptionally large-scale pieces we will negotiate a modest firing charge.
